Lady Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance’ music video, which famously snagged a record-breaking 13 nominations at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, has just surpassed 600,000,000 views on Vevo. The 7x VMA-winning and Grammy Award-winning music video makes Lady Gaga the 4th female artist to top 600,000,000 views with a single music video, following Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna (shared with Eminem), and Miley Cyrus, and the 6th artist overall to achieve the feat.
Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance’ made history earlier this year when it became the first, and currently only, single from a female artist to receive a Diamond Certification from the RIAA after surpassing a total of 10,000,000 sales (sales and stream-to-sales equivalents). To date the hit has sold over 12,000,000 copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling singles of all time.
Lady Gaga Becomes RIAA’s First Female Digital Diamond Award Recipient
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on Tuesday presented Lady Gaga with a prestigious Diamond Award in recognition of “Bad Romance” (Streamline/Interscope) surpassing the 10 million threshold counting song sales and streams. The presentation took place at Lady Gaga’s Washington, D.C. Verizon Center show as part of her artRAVE: the ARTPOP ball tour.

We are honored to present Lady Gaga with a Diamond Award in recognition of ‘Bad Romance’ surpassing the ten million mark, and to congratulate her as the first female artist in Gold & Platinum Program history to earn a Digital Diamond Award.”
In addition to her Diamond song honor, Lady Gaga’s digital single certifications now surpass the 28.5 million threshold, counting downloads and streams and spanning seven songs. Gaga’s RIAA album awards represent more than six million albums sold in the United States.
