Lady Gaga’s show in the world’s most populous Muslim-majority nation has been cancelled, her promoters said Sunday after Islamic hardliners threatened “chaos” if she entered the country.”Lady Gaga’s management has considered the situation minute to minute, and with threats if the concert goes ahead, Lady Gaga’s side is calling off the concert,” Minola Sebayang, lawyer for promoters Big Daddy, told reporters.

Indonesia’s national police spokesman Boy Rafli Amar said the permit for her June 3 “Born This Way Ball” concert - the biggest show on her Asian tour - had been denied.

The local promoter, Michael Rusli, could not immediately be reached for comment. Earlier, he said it would be “regrettable” if police didn’t give the clearance.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting Lady Gaga, he said, with every seat in Jakarta’s 52,000-seat Gelora Bung Karno stadium scooped up - half in the first two hours of sales.

Indonesia, a secular country of 240 million people, has more Muslims than any other in the world. Though it has a long history of religious tolerance, a small extremist fringe has become more vocal in recent years.

Hard-liners have loudly criticized Lady Gaga, saying the suggestive nature of her show threatened to undermine the country’s moral fibre. Some threatened to use physical force to prevent her from stepping off the plane.

A Monster friend of our’s went to see “Men in Black 3” last night and he shared with us some information about Gaga’s cameo. According to him, Gaga appears in the movie three times (as far as he saw), all of which are her on a TV screen that the Men in Black use to monitor aliens on Earth.

Above are the three looks they chose to show Gaga in during the movie. Apparently the reason they blurred Gaga out in one of the trailers was because they weren’t yet sure which looks to go with, so I guess no Creepy Gaga for now. :(

Police in Indonesia, after refusing a permit for Lady Gaga to perform in Jakarta, said Friday they were considering an offer from her local promoters to tone down the pop superstar’s racy show. But while the promoters indicated a deal was being worked on for the June 3 concert, the US singer’s management has vowed no compromise to appease religious conservatives.
